Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Samuel Akrugu has revealed the reasons behind his departure from the club.
In his interview with Angel FM, Samuel Akrugu explained that after their 5:0 defeat to WAFA in the Ghana Premier League, the then goalkeepers trainer of the club Jerry Agyei refused to give him playing time so he decided to leave.
“I was the goalkeeper when Hearts of Oak conceded 5:0 to WAFA at Sogakope.
They told me to fake injury after conceding 2:0 in the first half but I told them ,I would rather concede more goals than to fake injury.
Ben Mensah was our second Goalkeeper then. After the game ,the goalkeeper trainer decided not to include me in the match-day squad again.
He further added that he sees himself as gentle so he does not want to have problem with anyone.
“I see myself as gentle and noble, I don’t want to have problem with anyone so I just leave when the applauds is high”. He added
Samuel Akrugu has signed for Kumasi King Faisal till the end of the season.
