Algerian international Salim Boukhanchouche has expressed his desire to leave Saudi Arabia with immediate effect.
The 28-year-old former JS Kabile midfielder on loan at Saudi side Abha from Etoile du Sahel is stranded in the Saudi Arabia weeks after government important CoronaVirus combat measures including closure of it’s borders.
The Etolie de Sahel man on loan on loan at Abha is frustrated by the fact that other nationals have had their way out of the country except Algerians.
“Everything is at a standstill in Saudi Arabia and more particularly the sports competition. We ask the Algerian authorities to repatriate us from Saudi Arabia ”.
The midfielder further revealed they have made fruitless efforts to through their embassy in Embassy in Jeddah.
“The other foreign footballers have returned to their countries with the exception of Algerians” Salim stated.
Saudi Arabia host a handful of foreign footballers drawn from across different continents and many countries have evacuated their citizens from foreign country’s since the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic.
The one-time NA Hussein Dey holding midfielder is hoping to hear from the Algerian government in the nearest future as the frustration of being in a foreign land in crisis moment grows.
“I hope that the authorities will take care of this situation, it is not only players and coaches in this scenario, there are workers and students in the same situation”Salim concluded.
The pandemic has completely shutdown most if not all of the of the main airline travel services in the world.
It should be noted that during the 2019 AFCON competition in Egypt, the same Algerian government commissioned military Airbuses to transport Algerians to Cairo to support the Desert Foxes conquer Senegal in the final.
