Bafana Bafana assistant coach,Molefi Ntseki has been appointed with immediate effect as interim manager of the South African National football team barely 24 hours after former gaffer ,Staurt Baxter resigned as manager.
The decision was announced by the South African Football Association technical committee during a meeting on Saturday in Nasrec.
His appointment comes after Staurt Baxter resigned on Friday as headcoach. Before his resignation the tactician guided South Africa to the quarter final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt but lost to Nigeria after sucidal defending which cost them a place at the semi’s. However he felt it was the right time to move on.
South Africa created the greatest upset In the competition by beating host Egypt.
Molefi Ntseki will be banking on his experience within the ranks of the team to ensure continuity and progress in the squad especially as the prepare for qualification matches of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. He has also been involved with the senior national team prior to his appointment.
