The dead has been announced of Morocco International defender Mohamed Abarhoun. The 31-years-old died in Turkey in the morning of Wednesday December 2, 2020 after a long battle with stomach cancer.
The 31-year-old defender began receiving treatment for a stomach ache a long time ago and never returned to the field. Abarhoun, whose treatment continued in Istanbul, died of stomach bleeding.
“We have learned with sorrow the news of the death of our former football player Mohamed Abarhoun, who has been treated for a while. We wish Allah’s mercy to Mohamed Abarhoun, who passed away, and our condolences to his family, relatives and community.”A statement from the club read.
Born on May 3, 1989, in
Tétouan, Morocco, Mohamed Abarhoun the Moroccan professional footballer played as a defender for Turkish club Çaykur Rizespor where he made 20 appearances for them last season in the Turkish top-flight championship.
Before joining Çaykur Rizespor, Abarhoun played club football for Moghreb Tétouan and Moreirense.
Abarhoun represented Morocco U23 at the 2012 Summer Olympics, appearing in three games. He made his senior international debut in 2013, earning 7 international caps for his country.
