The 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup winners, RS Berkane have touched down in Dar es Salaam ahead of their group D match against Tanzania giants, Simba SC this Sunday at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
It will not only be a tough and interesting game but also a revenge mission for Simba SC after their 2-0 loss away from home on 27 February.
A 1-1 draw against US Gendarmarie, 2-0 defeat over RS Berkane, and 3-1 victory against ASEC Mimosas, have kept the Pablo Franco’s army second place in group D with four points. This means the Sunday’s clash is a must win game for Wekundu Wa Msimbazi to keep hopes of qualifying from the group.
The weekend’s visit to Dar es Salaam against Simba is the third one for RS Berkane’s Congolese head coach Florent Ibenge, after his last two trips while he was at AS Vita Club. He lost 2-1 and 4-1 respectively in these visits.
Fiston Abdulrazack and Tuisila Kisinda who played at Simba SC’s big rivals Young Africans SC, were very confident after being welcomed by some of the Yanga SC’s fans at Julius Nyerere International Airport early today.
The NBC Premier league defending champions won their last two league games winning 3-0 against Biashara United Mara and 2-0 over Dodoma jiji FC.
