The captain of the Atlas Lions of Morocco Romain Ghanem Paul Saïss has denied claims French Ligue Un clubs are keen on signing him and declared he is happy at the Molineux.
The 30-year-old Wolverhampton defender switched to the English Premier League outfit in the summer of 2016 from French side SCO Angers.
Despite his good run in a very good Wolves team, media reports have opened doors for him to return to France. However, the former AS Valenciennes center back is unperturbed by this reports and remains focused on his development under coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
Speaking recently to France football, Saiss declared he is fully focus on activities in England.
“I am currently in England with my family. I communicate with my club coach Nuno Espirito and with the national coach, Vahid Halilhodzic. I only focus on training while waiting for the epidemic to end.” the defender stated.
Therefore media reports of interest from Olympique de Lyon, Marseille and Saint-Etienne are far from materializing as the defender claims his agent has not informed him of interest of such interest from French clubs and he is happy in England.
“This are offers I read about only on newspapers, I have not receive any offer from a Ligue 1 club. I am currently happy in England, and I want to respect my contract with Wolverhampton. I am training seriously in individually and I do not want to change teams” Saiss averred.
Saiss featured in 39 games for the club this campaign taking his number of games at the West Midlands to 134 games since he arrived five years ago.
The former Le Havre defender has strong ties in France. He was born in the country and has featured for five French clubs since his debut in 2011.
Saiss has won 30 caps for the Atlas Lions of Morocco.
He may not return to France before the end of current contract but a return to the country before the end of his career is very likely.
