Head of Edo Queens Technical Crew Rollanson Odeh said that the club is financially, morally and materially motivated for optimal performance on the field of play. It should be noted that the Edo State Government recently constructed a new camp for the club as well as paying the players the same salaries as their male counterparts, Bendel Insurance.
Odeh in an exclusive chat with kick442.com opined that all these will go a long way in bringing out good results on the field.
“This is the best thing that has ever happened to the team. It will motivate the players for optimal performance and productivity. Salaries are paid before 25th of every month, as I speak we have collected May salaries.” He said.
The tactician who just penned down a two-year-deal with Edo Queens said his immediate target is to bring in experienced players which will spur the team to win trophies in the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL.
“Well, I just penned a two year deal with Edo Queens, meeting a very young team on ground. The first thing was to bring in some experienced players to blend together. It is still work in progress, but if God permits we will win a trophy if not our target is next season.” He told kick442.
The 2019-2020 NWFL Premiership kick-off was halted due to the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic. The experienced coach asserted that the league can be concluded if there is enough time after the pandemic.
“It all depends on what the NWFL wants. If there is time we start the league, if not we prepare for a new season.
“Rebranding the league is a good development. It gives the league a new brand and more leverage for sponsors to come in.”
The former General Manager of Nigeria National League, NNL side, Crown FC of Ogbomosho asserted that there is no difference coaching male and female teams as football is the same everywhere concluding that the NWFL is doing a good job.
“There is no difference in coaching male or female teams. Football is the same everywhere. The only difference is male and female.
My advice is for the NWFL board is for Aisha Falode led board to continue the good work she has started because she is a team player. We all believe in her leadership to take the league to the next level.” He concluded.
Rollanson Odeh has coached various clubs spanning over 25 years both male and female clubs with a stint at the women’s national teams of Nigeria.
