1)Meyong Menene’s goal against DR Congo was the first scored at home by a Cameroon player in a competitive game since Alain Djeumfa was named.

2)Coach Alain Djeumfa’s organized his team’s backline efficiently and Cameroon didn’t concede for the second consecutive game in Yaounde. It is the first time this has happened since his appointment in January 2019.

3)Cameroon’s goals were the first goals scored by the Lionesses at home since Coach Alain Djeumfa was appointed.

4) Nchout Njoya Ajara scored the second goal to extend her goalscoring run to 14 goals in her last 14 games for club and country.

5)DR Congo conceded two goals for the second away game in the running. It finished two all against Tanzania in their round two first leg game.

6)Cameroon finished the game with just four players on the field plying their trade abroad.

7)Cameroon scored twice in two minutes,(18th and 20th minutes), it is the quickest interval between two goals in the Djeumfa Era.

8)The win against DR Congo extends Cameroon’s unbeaten run against African opponents to 11 games with their last defeat being against South Africa at the 2018 COSAFA tournament final.

9)Cameroon’s Estelle Laura Johnson started at the back for the seven competitive game running. Meffoumetou Falone and Estelle are the only outfield players that have started all competitive games under Alain Djeumfa.

10)Should Cameroon and Nigeria secure qualification in the second leg game, both sides will clash twice in round four of the qualifiers in January 2019.

Coach Alain Djeumfa’s girl have their qualification cards in their hands ahead of Tuesday’s return leg game away in Kinshasa.
