Legendary Indomitable Lions of Cameroon center-half Rigobert Song has announced he is constructing a medical facility in the country in collaboration with 1XBET as a way to pay back the society for their support towards him in his time between life and death.
Rigobert Song made the revelation this Monday during the signing of a two-year contract as a brand Ambassador for 1XBET.
“I am very excited about this partnership. I want to thank my partners who came up with this initiative. This is the way football works these days. Thanks to the entire 1Xbet team for investing their marketing trust on me. 1XBET has decided to accompany me on the construction of a hospital. Not everyone will have an opportunity to be taken out of the country so am doing this for Cameroonians as a way of appreciation,” Song said.
The hospital is expected to be about 40 kilometers in the outskirts of Yaoundé, more precisely in NKENGLIKOK, tagged “Rigobert Song Foundation Hospital”.
It will be built on an area of approximately 2,708 m²
“In addition my jubilee is coming up, I could have done it in 2010 but in 2022 we will be celebrating this event in partnership with 1XBET,” Song added.
Reacting to questions about the objectives of the partnership the director of 1XBET stated they are partnering with the aim growing the brand.
Song suffered a stroke in October 2016. At 40 then, Song collapsed at his home in Yaounde and was immediately transported to hospital but couldn’t find sufficient aid until the former Lions centre-back, who won 137 caps for the Indomitable Lions, would be taken to the Salpetriere hospital in Paris.
This move from 1XBET and Rigobert Song adds to a chain of community development projects both institutions have been engaged in over the years.
