Current and potential Indomitable Lions were in action in Europe and the rest of the world over the weekend.

England

The English Premier has taken the final bend to determine the winners and the loosers. In match Day 30, Gaetan Bong’s Brighton and Hove Albion earned a precious away victory against Crystal Palace. The Cameroon international left back had to watch the game beside his coach Chris Hughton.
It looks like it will be another drop for Fulham despite appointing a third manager for the season. The Cottagers were beaten 3-1 by Leicester City with another key member of Cameroon’s national team Andre Zambo Anguissa left on the bench for the entire game.
Joel Matip has put his injury worries behind him, the Cameroon defender had a good game against Burnley as Liverpool kept their challenge for an English league title win they have been running after since 1990. The Reds saw off Burnley 4-2 at Anfield.
In the third tier, Cameroon midfielder Yann Songo’o played the entire game for Plymouth Argyle who played to a virgin draw with league leaders Luton Town.
In the fourth tier, Cameroon defender Emmanuel Monthe was at the heart of the Tranmere Rovers defense in a 1-0 win against Crewe Alexandra.
Good old George Elokobi is still flexing his muscles in England’s fifth division, his club Aldershot Town lost 2-1 away at Barrow.

Italy

2017 Cameroon Afcon wining hero Nicolas Nkoulou was part of Torino’s difficult to penetrate back three along side Emiliano Moretti and Armando Izzo. Walter Mazzari’s men had an away 1-2 victory against Frosinone in match Day 27 at the Stadio Benito Stirpe.
In Serie B, Adamo Gregucci the coach of Salernitana left Cameroon forward Joseph Minala on the bench against Crotone. It proved to be a costly decision as they were beaten 0-2 at home.

Spain

Atlético Madrid are the only real contenders still pushing FC Barcelona for the Spanish La Liga title. The made sure their challenge stayed alive with a 1-0 win against Allan Nyom’s Leganes. The Cameroon defender was taken off by Mauricio Pellegrino at the 76th minute.
Betis Seville earned 0-1 away win at Celta Vigo, Quique Setien preferred the more experienced Andres Guardado, William Carvalho and Sergio Canales over Cameroon’s rising star Wilfried Kaptoum.
25 years old Cameroon midfielder Ibrahim Amadou did not make the team sheet in Sevilla’s 5-2 win against Real Sociedad. He has been on the fringes of Pablo Machin’s team all season.
Karl Toko Ekambi had a solid game against Levante. The Cameroon forward did not score but he was impressive. He was even booked at the 60th minute.
In the Spanish second tier, 24 years old Cameroon defender Mohammed Djetei was absent in Gimnastic Tarragone’s 1-0 against Albacete. That was also the case for Yann Brice Eteki and his 28 years old compatriot Lucien Fridolin Owona Ndong in their team Almeria’s 1-0 loss away to Sporting Gijon.

Germany

Einstracht Frankfurt secured an emphatic 0-3 win away at Fortuna Düsseldorf, the win takes them to fifth, 3points away from the fourth position. As always 19 years old Cameroon defender Evans Ndicka had an eye catching performance in Frankfurt’s back three.
Pierre Kunde Malong has lost his starting place at Mainz 05, he was only summoned by Sandro Schwarz at the 85th minute to replace Danny Latza at the 85th minute in the 0-1 loss at home to Borussia Monchengladbach.
In the German second tier, SV Darmstadt beat Holstein Kiel 3-2. Holstein’s coach Tim Walter gave his Bayern Munich loanee, Cameroon international Frank Evina a run in the game at the 75th minute. Meanwhile Evina’s compatriot Marvin Matip was overlooked by Jens Keller in FC Ingolstadt’s 2-0 away loss at FC Union Berlin.

France

Cameroon midfield prospect Aurelien Tchouameni showed why is highly rated by many against Monaco in match Day 28 in the French Ligue 1. Bordeaux earned a 1-1 draw away to a resurgent Monaco.
Felix Eboa Eboa made sure Guingamp did not concede any goal in a solid defensive display against Toulouse, the game finished 0-0.
Cameroon striker Stephane Bahoken is having the season of his life in the French top flight. He benefited from substitute Angelo Fulgini’s assist to a earn a 90th minute equalizer for Anger who drew 2-2 away to Montpellier. It was the strikers 9th goal of the season. His compatriot Ambrose Oyongo Bitolo was present in the entire game for Montpellier as a left winger.
Rennes carries their fine form from the Europa League into the French Liga 1. After making history to become the first French club to beat Arsenal in France in a European club competition, Julien Stephan’s team saw off Caen on a similar 3-1 score. Cameroon forward James Edward Lea Siliki joint the party for Rennes at the 73rd minute. His compatriot Malik Tchokounte had a quiet night for Caen and was pulled off at the 75th minute.
The arrival of Italo-Ghanaian striker Mario Balotteli has given Marseille a new dimension. Rudi Garcia’s men beat Nice 1-0 at the Stade Velodrome. Their Cameroon winger Clinton Njie settled for place on the bench all night. Patrick Vieirra is trying to manage Cameroon midfielder Adrien Tamaze who has given a lot already this season. He was replaced at the 78th minute of the game. His compatriot, striker Ignatio Ganago was not on the team sheet.

Holland

Ajax of Amsterdam cut their deficit with league leaders PSV Eindhoven to five points after match Day 25. Coach Erik Ten Hag’s men had a comfortable 4-0 win against Fortuna Sittard. Ones again Cameroon’s in-form and highly wanted goalkeeper Andre Onana showed his class.

Portugal

25 years old Cameroon striker Joel Tagueu was at the heart of Maritimo’s fight back after going two goals down against Moreirense. Tagueu scored his 3rd and 4th goals of the campaign by getting Maritimo’s 2nd and 3rd of the night. The former Santos and Cruzeiro striker has his eyes on the Indomitable Lions in view of the 2019 Afcon.
Cameroon’s Malick Evouna made an 88th minute appearance for Santa Clara in their 0-0 draw against Aves.
Framelin Ohoulo watched helplessly from the bench as Nacional were hammered 5-1 by Portimonense.
Cameroonian Ibrahim Koneh made a nine minutes contribution as he was brought in at the 81st minute for Cicero in his team Estoril’s 1-0 win against Vitoria Guimaraes.

Belgium

Standard Liege were beaten 1-2 by Cercle Brugge in match Day 29 in Belgium. Cameroon international Collins Fai watched the entire game from the bench.
As it’s been the case all season, Cameroon goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa was an unhappy substitute as his team Oostende were beating 2-0 by Gent.
Didier Lamkel Ze was introduced at the 86th minute in Royal Antwerp’s 1-2 home defeat to Sporting Charleroi.
Royal Excel Mouscron played a 1-1 against St Truiden. It was not a good night for Cameroon midfielder Franck Boya who was saw red after a second yellow card at the 79th. His compatriot Fabrice Olinga as usual watched the came beside his coach.

Scotland

Arnaud Sutchuin Djoum gave his all in Hearts 0-1 win against Dundee FC. The Cameroon international midfielder saw yellow at the 44th minute.

Denmark

Coach Jens Askou overlooked the services of Cameroon’s 22 years old midfielder Victor Sylvestre Mpindi Ekani and 22 years old striker William Joel Tchuameni Kouemo in Vendsyssell’s 1-1 draw away to Vejle Boldklub.

Austria

Runaway league leaders Salzburg drew 0-0 at home to Sturm Graz, Cameroon defender Jérôme Onguéné was dropped for the game.
Austria Wien were comfortably beaten 1-3 by Altach at home thanks to the solid midfield display of Cameroon’s Samuel Oum Gouet. His compatriot and teammate Ngwat-Mahop did not make coach Wolfgang Luisser’s team sheet.
In the Austrian second tier SK Austria Klagenfurt drew 1-1 against Wattens. Cameroon’s Ousseni Nji Nfiben Moupain was an unused substitute for Klagenfurt.
Micheal Cheukoua’s 81 minutes contribution for Winner Neustadt helped them to a 2-1 win against Vorwaerts Steyr.

Switzerland

Young Boys of Bernes opened a 21points lead at the top of the Swiss league table with a narrow 0-1 win against Grasshoppers of Zurich. Jean- Pierre Ntsame played the entire game while Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu was taken off at the 77th minute by coach Gerardo Seoane.
Alexandre Song and Freddy Mveng watched from the bench as FC Sion were humbled 3-1 by Neuchatell Xamas. Coach Murat Yakin ignored his pair of Cameroonian midfielders.

Greece

Akis Mantzios the coach of Panionios seem to have ran out of ideas, as his side lost 5-0 to Panetolikos. Cameroon’s Olivier Boumal started and finished the game, while his compatriot defender Yaya Banana was dropped to the bench and only called upon at the 52nd minute to replace Dimitrios Stavrapoulos. Panionios are currently 12th in a 16 teams league.
In a Day 21 fixture in the Greek second tier, 22 years old Cameroon striker Rooney Wankenwai Eva gave Pao Aittitos Spata FC a 2-1 lead at the 58th minute against Apollon Larissa FC but they failed to hold on to the lead as the game finished 2-2.

Turkey

Aurelien Chedjou had a good game in Bursaspor’s 0-0 draw away to Akaragucu.
Jean Amel Kana Biyik and Kayserispor had a game to forget as they were beaten 3-0 by Rizespor with the Cameroonian defender playing the entire game.
Cameroon playmaker Cedric Axel Ngando Elessa employed all his trickery and passing abilities for 68 minutes to no meaningful effect in a rare start for Gotzepe in a 0-0 draw against Kasimpasa.
In the Turkish second tier,
Osmanlispor’s coach Osman Ozkoyh opted to use Cameroon winger Eric Ayuk Mbu as a right back in their 0-0 draw with Adana Demirspor. He was booked at the 24th minute.
Cameroon’s Steve Leo Beleck Abeka partnered their wining goal scorer Mahatma Otoo in Balikesirpors’ 1-0 win against Adanaspor.
The presence of Cameroon defender Patrick Etoga in the central defense of Istanbulspor was not enough to prevent 0-1 defeat against Altinordu FK.
Cameroon midfielder Marc Kibong Mbamba played the first 53 minutes in league leaders Denizlispor’s 0-0 at home to Umraniyespor.

Cyprus

Omonia Nicosia drew 0-0 at home to Nea Salamis, Cameroon international Raoul Simplice Loé was introduced at the 46th minute for Omonia while his compatriot Charles Eloundou saw yellow at the 90th minute after coming on at the 67th minute for Tonia Tisdell.
Former Indomitable Lions Captain Eyong Enoh Tarkang played the entire game for Enosis Paralimi in their 1–1 draw with Anorthosis.

Czech Republic

Slavia Prague help on to their lead in the Czech flight with a 4-0 win against Banik Ostrava. Michael Ngadeu Ngadjui played the entire game.
It was a difficult game for Cameroon’s Jean Olivier Simo Kingue who did not only see yellow at the 77th but his side Pribram also lost 2-0 to Mlada Boleslav.

Slovakia

Despite being sent of at the 71st minute through a straight red card, Niba MacDonald’s Nitra battled to 0-0 at the Stadion pod Zoborom in front of 912 spectators.
Zlate Moravce lost at home 1-2 against Dac 1904 Dunajska Streda. Their 29 years old former Cotonsport of Garoua defender Noe Achille Kwin Amban saw yellow at the 88th minute of the game. The Cameroon defender who won the league in Cameroon in 2011 played the entire game.

Russia

The Russian Premier League was in Day 19 over the weekend. 23 years old Cameroon midfielder Gael Ondoa and Anzhi Makatchkala were beaten 0-2 by visiting FC Lokomotiv Moscow despite the fact that Ondoa played for 83 minutes.
Midfielder Petrus Boumal’s presence for 90 minutes helped Ural to a 1-1 draw away at Republican FC Akhmat Grozny.

Ukraine

Coach Oleksandr Babych did not require the services of Cameroon international defender Justin Dawa Tchakonte in Mariupol’s 0-0 at home to Chornomarets Odessa. The defender watched the entire games as often from the bench.
It’s a difficult start to life in Ukraine for Cameroon midfielder Martin Hongla. After losing the Lviv derby last weekend, this weekend he was on the end of a 5-0 from league leaders Shakhtar Donetsk. Karpaty Lviv’s coach Fabri Gonzalez had to make tactical adjustments to keep the score line down after Hongla was sent off for second yellow card at the 78th minute.

Croatia

Though he played the entire game, Camerooon’s Dani Ndi and NK Istra were humiliated at home 0-3 by HNK Gorica.
Rodrigue Bongongui was an unused substitute for Slaven Koprivnica who lost at home 1-2 to Hajduk Split.

Serbia

Cameroon striker Regis Samuel Baha was left on the bench by Milorad Kosanovic in his team FK Napredak Krusevac’s 0-0 with visiting Vojvodina.

Romania

Jacques Zoua failed to score in Astra Giurgui’s game against CS Universitatea Craiova. The striker was booked at the 60th minute as Astra lost the game 1-0.

Estonia

In the Estonian top flight Cameroon striker Aime Gando Marcelin Biala cannot stop scoring. The 22 years old striker got FCI Levadia’s second in their 5-1 hammering of Talinna Kalev one of the opening fixtures of the new campaign.

China

Christian Bassogog opened the scoring at the 25th minute in his side Henan Jianye’s 2-2 draw away at Shandong Luneng.

USA

In the American MLS, Cameroon’s Jeremy Ebobisse Ebolo got a 29th minute equalizer for Portland Timbers against Los Anegeles FC, but his goal turned out to be a mere consolation as the home side rallied and score three more to carry the day 4-1.

CAF Champions League

In the CAF Champions League, Cameroon’s Franck Kim made it 2-0 at the 83rd minute for defending champions Esperance of Tunis at Horoya FC from Guinea Conakry. The Tunisians have now booked their place in the quarterfinals of the competition.
It looked to be mission impossible as Vita Club of the DRC, as they had to beat eight times African champions Al Ahly of Cairo to stay in the competition. That was made possible thanks to their multiple unbelievable safes produced by their 38 years old Cameroon goalkeeper Lukong Nelson Bongaman. Vita Club got a much needed 1-0 win to stay in contention for a place in the quarterfinals.
