Activities of FECAFOOT North West for the 2019/2020 football season have been reviewed. This was during the General Assembly meeting of the body that took place December 23, 2020, in the conference room of FECAFOOT North West in Bamenda.
While reviewing the activities, the Secretary General of FECAFOOT North West, Ndi Tsembom Elvis stated that, the 2019/2020 season has been the most challenging of their two years stay in office due to the Corona virus pandemic.
The Secretary General noted that the 2019/2020 season started on a good footing with the objective of producing another team in the elite division but the Corona virus pandemic dashed the opportunity. However, he congratulated PWD Bamenda for winning the league one championship. This he says is one of the pride of the regional bureau. He also expressed the happiness for Foncha Street FC, Vision Sports FC and Yong Sports Academy.
The Secretary General also thanked the amateur club presidents for their efforts put in place last season. By the time the championship was brought to and end by the national federation, the region already had it’s cup of Cameroon representatives and was about launching the second phase of the championship.
He talked of Youth football which was on a good footing but were all brought to a standstill by the Corona virus.
As regards the referees from the region and in preparation for the upcoming season, he announced that one assistant referee, Nkimbeng Conrad was promoted back to the elite two.
He also acknowledged that the region benefited from Covid-19 relief materials from the national federation and from Samuel Eto’o foundation which was distributed to the clubs.
However, Ndi Tsembom Elvis noted that the North West FECAFOOT bureau cannot talk of a successful meeting because their activities did not draw to a close.
