Adele Kabre’s 15th-minute goal helped Burkina Faso to a 0-1 away win over the Gambia.
Vilakazi scored the solitary goal in South Africa’s away win in Mozambique.
The return leg of the Second Round fixtures will take place from October 7 to 9.
