The People’s Elephant of Aba lost their match day 2 rescheduled game against Kwara United at the Ilorin Township Stadium on Wednesday.
The eight times champion of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fell by a lone goal scored in the 6th minutes of the tie.
An excellent team move from Kwara Utd saw Jude Steve finish from a cut back.
A contentious goal it was as Enyimba players protested the genuineness of the goal. Jude seem to be offside but the goal stood.
As expected, Enyimba tried coming back to the game with several attempts at goal, but good goalkeeping and defending ensured the match remained 1-0 at half time.
The away side came out playing better, but it was the Harmony Boys that had the threatening chances as the ball hit the woodwork at two occasions in the game.
Ohanu was picked out by brilliant pass from Fatokun. The Kwara United striker rounded goalkeeper Noble and watched as his effort stroke the upright in the 58th minutes.
The team from Ilorin also saw their effort hit the bar in the 79th minutes. At some point, the home side will take all points.
And so it was after 90 minutes as Centre Referee Mariwwan from Sokoto whistled for the end of the game as Kwara United got it first victory against the Aba side in a long while.
Michael Ohanu was awarded the man of the match after the game.
With the result, Enyimba remains fifth with 9 points on the log while Kwara United move to 9th place with eight points.
