French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes and rivals Brest have reached an agreement for the transfer of 25-year old Cameroonian midfielder, Andrew James Lea Siliki.
The midfield metronome is switching to Brest after weeks of negotiations with Rennes yielded a positive result.
The recently-capped Cameroon international who was on contract at the French Club title the summer of 2023 could no longer stay at Rennes as he was tagged surplus to requirement by coach Bruno Genesio and even kept out of Rennes’ ongoing pre-season camp.
Lea Siliki is set to sign four-year deal at Brest to end his previous struggles for game time under coach Bruno Genesio.
Rennes have replaced him with Mitrovic who arrived a few weeks back.
The former PSG and Guingamp midfielder will be hoping for a good run of games at Brest to increase his chances of making the cut with his national selection ahead of next year’s African cup of Nations tournament on home soil.
Lea Siliki is valued at €4 millions but Brest has offered €3 millions and Rennes has accepted the offer from Michel der Zakarian’s side.
Lea who joined Rennes in 2014 and Brest becomes his fourth club.
Another Cameroonian ; Enzo Boyomo is on the wishlist of Brest who already own Mbock Hianga and are close to making it two with the arrival of Lea.
Senegalese forward Mbaye Niang is also set to leave Brest as he has been excluded from the pre-season training camp.
Indomitable Lions midfielders; Martin Hongla, Pierre Kunde and Samuel Oum Gouet have already changed clubs this summer.
