Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC of Cairo are without a permanent head coach.
The Club has confirmed the departure of 42-year-old Swiss manager Rene Weiler with immediate effect.
The decision was made public this Thursday evening and Mohamed Youssef has been named interim coach of the Red Devils for the immediate future.
Weiler’s decision to leave the Egyptian giants comes barely days after he guided the Club to their 42nd Egyptian title.
The former FC Nürnberg gaffer arrived the Club in July 2019 and had an impressive stay with the Red Devils.
Weiler has taken charge of 45 games, recording 34 victories, five draws and just two defeats. He has guided the Club to the CAF Champions League semi final and the top of the Egyptian premier league with just a defeat in the domestic league.
There have been recent reports Weiler a switch to Ahly’s bitter rivals Pyramids SC.
He is the third of the four coaches that guided Clubs to this year’s CAF Champions League semi final to quit before long-awaited event.
