President of Reign Soccer Agency, Olawale Onipede has congratulated Nigerian athlete, Oluwatobiloba Amusan for breaking the 100m hurdles World Record.
The Ogun State indigene also won gold medal in the 100m hurdles at the 2022 World Athletics Championship in Eugene, Oregon.
“Congratulations Tobi Amusan has Shattered the World 100mHurdles Record, powering to a PB of 12. 12s to win the first semi at the World Athletics Championships. It was joy all the way seeing Nigeria-born superb talented and skillful athlete beat previous WR holder, Kent Harrison of USA in 12.27s and Danielle Williams of Jamaica in 12.41s. When your heart overflows with love, it is difficult to change your path. Like you, I know what it’s like to love wearing the same shirt every day. Like you, I know that there is nothing better than the place we feel at home.
Congratulations on your historic record, Tobi Amusan. But above all, congratulations on your beautiful career at the athletics Championships.

“Stories like ours, of loving the same race for so long, unfortunately, will be increasingly rare in Athletics. I admire you very much.”
My proverb always is “Victory is Sweet and joy but defeat is Bitter and sad” for Nigeria now is sweet and joy while for the former Record holders are Bitter and sad, well it is turned by turn. Tobi’s hard work day and night has paid off to be a World Record her name and the country’s image are celebrated all over the world for good no doubt. I am using this medium to encourage upcoming athletes in Nigeria and Africa never to write off the conclusion stories yet that this is not their final destination keep on pushing and working one day like Tobi you will arise and shine and will be celebrated all over the world. Please never give up on your sports dreams no matter what you are going through now is for you to break through to your next level… keep the wheels of your sports dreams moving. CONGRATULATIONS on your incredible success to Tobi Amusan once again. Cheers.” Says Olawale Onipede.
Tobi Amusan went into the World Athletics Championship as African and Commonwealth 100m hurdles Champions and with this feat approached the Commonwealth Games as hot favourites to defend her title.
