Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon midfielder Charlène Iverna Meyong Menene has set her targets for the upcoming season barely days after signing a new contract with Chinese second tier outfit Meizhou Hakka.
The 23-year old penned a new one-year deal over the weekend as reported by Sportsglitz.net, which comes as a reward for her input during have successful first season at the club.
Reacting to questions from kick442.com on her latest move Meyong revealed a number of things.
“My motivation after extension of my contract is achieving the first division of the Chinese Super League. Improving my technical and tactical qualities within the team with the hell of the good management and supervision of the staff,” Meyong who scored once and provided three assists in seven league games last season stated before going on to discuss how her previous output is inspiring her.
“Speaking of results, I would say right away that it has been positive, I had difficulties adapting quickly given the weather conditions, but I tried my best,not baf for a start but there is a lot I will do more.”
Meyong is full of praises for her club colleagues and believes they could be even more important in future.
“Obviously, I am satisfied with my performance within the club and especially alongside my teammates with whom contact is easy to pass, we speak the same language as football. My ambition is to do better for the next season,” the 2018 AWCON Bronze medalist continued.
In the past year, Meyong has been fully focused on her club, having very limited time around the national team and wants results to show for.
“One of my major professional goals is to win titles, namely The Cup, The Super League Championship, especially since I am already very well adapted on the pitch and socially,” the multiple Cameroon women’s League winner concluded.
Meyong is in her first job abroad and it’s been so far so good.
