The 21-year-old Nigerian forward has completed her switch from the Norwegian Toppserien side, Avaldsnes IL to Spanish Primera Iberdrola outfit, Atletico Madrid on a two year deal.
Super Falcons striker, Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade who played for Avaldsnes IL last season will now put on the jersey of FC Barcelona’s league rival, Atletico Madrid.
The former FC Robo Queens captain (The Girl with Blue Hair) in her reaction to joining Atletico Madrid says she will do her best to make her new side achieve success.
“It is a great privilege and an opportunity to be here. I am excited to be part of this team and I hope that together we achieve success. It is a great step in my career and a great challenge for me and I am willing to give it my all ”.
According to Ajibade’s brand and media team, Eagles Tracker, she said: “I am a versatile, energetic and hard-working player. I tell the Atléticos that I’m going to do my best so that they and the team can feel proud.”

The former Falconets captain joined Avaldsnes IL from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side, FC Robo Queens, and spent two seasons in Norway.
She scored four goals in the course of her first season in 2019 at Avaldsnes before surpassing her personal best in her second season with nine goals after the 2020 season.
She scored seven goals in the 2020 Norwegian Toppserien as she guided her Club to third place and made the league team of the season.
In the Norway Cup, Ajibade scored two goals as Avaldsnes IL succumbed to Cup winners, Valerenga.
Ajibade thus joined Super Falcons players like Asisat Oshoala (FC Barcelona), Rita Chikwelu (Madrid CFF), Chidinma Okeke (Madrid CFF), and Charity Adule (Eibar) in the Spanish Primera Iberdrola. She became the second Super Falcons player to join Atletico Madrid after Francesca Ordegah.
