French coach Patrice Carteron has been handed one year contract extension at Raja Casablanca after guiding the Green Eagles to win the CAF Super Cup and earning them a return to the CAF Champions League since 2015.
The 49-year old’s who was appointed in January after the sack of coach Juan Carlos Garrido following a 2-0 defeat to Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel in the Arab Club Champions Cup, has impressed taking the team from 5th to second place behind closest rivals and neighbours Wydad Casablanca after the Super Cup triumph.
Moroccan heavyweights Raja Casablanca announced the signing of former Carteron to be in charge of the team until the end of the ongoing season with an option to extend the deal for another year.
The club will now hope that the ex-Al Ahly coach will bring back Raja, one of the greatest African Football Club to its glory days in the league and in the continent.
