Delta Queens attacking midfielder, Rachael Okotete is of the view that the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL Premiership for next season will be better off than that of last season.
She said this when this reporter asked her to rate the organization of 2018-2019 season.
“I believe that next season will be better than last season. The season will still be abridged one in spite of the fact that I prefer a round-robin season, compared to last season where we only played six matches, there will be more games to play come next season. Unlike last season where we only have four teams in a group, now that we have eight teams each in a group, meaning that we will play 14 games. This will be good for the competitive nature of the league.” She said.
“I think the new logo and name is a welcomed development for the league as it will bring the much-needed change that the league craves for.”
The former Nasarawa Amazons, Pelican Stars, and Abia Angels attacker opined that Delta Queens will have to kick off their season in a positive manner away to newcomers, Royal Queens of Warri.
“We have to win our first match away to Royal Queens or at least get an away draw if we are to have any chance of Super 4 qualification. I believe with one mind, one spirit, and one goal, we will be able to beat Royal Queens. By the grace of God coupled with our hard-work, we should be able to get a good result in Warri.” She concluded.
Delta Queens will square up with the likes of Rivers Angels FC, Ibom Angels FC, Royal Queens FC, Osun Babes FC, FC Robo Queens, Heartland Queens FC, Adamawa Queens FC in Group B.
