Following a meeting held Thursday September 17, 2020 in the country’s political capital Yaounde PWD social club of Bamenda’s victory has been validated.
The meeting chaired by the sports boss of Cameroon, Prof Narcisse Moulle Kombi seeked to find lasting solutions to the stalement situation between FECAFOOT of Seidou Mbombo Njoya and LFPC of Gen. Pierre Semengue which has been on the lips of Cameroonians the past days.
Tuesday’s decision by the International court of arbitration for Sports (CAS) in Laussane, Switzerland, reinstated LFPC as the professional body to organize league matches in Cameroon. As a result of this FECAFOOT that was in charge of the 2019/2020 football season, filed an appeal to nullify the ruling from the chamber of arbitration and conciliation of the Cameroon Olympic and Sports Movement reinstating New Stars to the Cameroon Elite one Championship.

LFPC will henceforth organize football activities in the country including the 2020 CHAN
FECAFOOT and the Cameroon Professional Football League have been charged to work hand in gloves to ensure a smooth transition that will eventually lead to a smooth kick off of the new season. .
“I urged you to collaborate fully in the peaceful resumption of professional football championships and in the participation of deserving Cameroonian clubs in international competitions in compliance with the regulations issued by CAF . In addition, it is a question of avoiding any infringement of the rights of the implicated actors (clubs), as well as new developments in the cases already decided by the CAS (case of News Stars of Douala)”
PWD’s victory as Champions of Elite one championship was validated and will represent the country in the CAF Champions League.
New Stars who was absent from all football activities in the country during the 2019/2020 football season have been reinstated in to the Elite one championship.
According to the sport boss, inspite of all these confusions, the interest of the country matters most.
“By emphasizing, to the attention of the parties, the imperative need for them to work for the preservation of the best interests of the Nation to the detriment of special interests, avoiding any embarrassing situation that would harm the good organization of short and medium term of the important deadlines which bind our country (CHAN 2020 and CAN 2021 postponed due to COVID-19) and for which our country has already made immeasurable efforts, under the very high leadership of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA and the coordination of the Prime Minister, Head of Government.”
Cameroon’s Elite One championship was initially seto be begin on September 26, 2020 but was later postponed due to these complications.
