PWD’s player of the season 2019/2020 Ndeh Collins, has spoken about the club’s participation in the CAF champions league. Speaking to kick442.com, the defensive midfielder recounted the early start of the Cameroon cup and how the club finally emerged victorious.
To him PWD players were considered “underdogs”, at the beginning of the 2019/2020 season.
“I remember when we started the League, we were the under dogs. People looked at us like we cannot play, people believed in Cotonsport and others big clubs but we became victorious. The CAF Champions League will be same. We are going to take the population by surprise as we did in the Cameroon League.”
In preparation for the battle ahead, the three time scorer for PWD, is keeping fit, working hard and staying safe because football will eventually resume.
“I do footing and indoor workouts to stay strong for the battle ahead. We have a difficult task so we have to prepare. Same thing I’ve been telling my Collegue’s to train to face the challenge that lies ahead.”
“COVID-19 is a deadly disease, a disease we can not joke with it. I am respecting the measures put in place to curb the spread and staying safe. But not forgetting the task ahead.” He added.
Nicknamed “The destroyer”, he has called on the fans of PWD, the population of the North West region and Cameroonians to rally behind this club and watch the magic in the CAF Champions League.
“I call on the supporters of PWD of Bamenda to rally and support this club and watch the magic we will perform.”
The defensive midfielder who hails from the Northwest, made 24 appearances for the club, with two assists, scoring three goals against TKC, Dragon and Union of Douala, which eventually gave the club its top position.
The management of PWD has voted Ndeh Collins as best player for the 2019/2020 season, most likely because of his telling contribution.
PWD of Bamenda was crowned champions of the Cameroon League in March, first time in 58 years to drink from the trophy.
They will be representing the country in the CAF Champions League.
