Victors of the 2019/2020 Cameroon top tier PWD Social Club of Bamenda will finally receive their league title Tuesday November 10th 2020 in Bamenda.
The Abakwa boys were crowned champions due to the premature end of the league caused by the coronavirus pandemic after 28 matches played with 47 points recorded and 6 matches left. One point ahead of second place Cotonsports of Garoua.
The information about receiving the league title was made known by President Abunde Pascal during the occasion of the presentation of the newly acquired bus for the club Sunday November 8th 2020.
“During our first match against Stade Renard on Tuesday, we are going to receive our trophy, which is what the fans have been clamouring for. I think it is going to be a big day for us. It’s true that it is not coming the way we would have wanted it to be, but we think that it is what we earned. So I want to call on the fans to be present at the Mile six Arena on Tuesday to push their team so that we start the season possibly the way we ended last term” Abunde Pascal hinted
Coach David Pagou and his boys have been pitted against Stade Renard of Melong on match day one in the Yong Sports academy arena. They are also expected to take on Libyian giants Al Ahly next week in a friendly game in preparation for the CAF inter club competition.
The team is returning to this year’s elite one championship to defend their first ever silver wear in 58 years.
