The Management and Supporters of 2020 Elite One champions of Cameroon PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda are targeting a fruitful and prosperous 2021-2022 football season and at least a Silverware each season when the league kick-starts come March 12, 2022 as announced by FECAFOOT.
This was unanimously agreed by supporters and management of the team during a meeting held Thursday March 3, 2022, in Bamenda.

Addressing the supporters, the President of the Abakwa Boys Abunde Pascal called on supporters to stay strong behind the club and made it clear the aim of the meeting is to bring all supporters of PWD of Bamenda and to plan better and rally behind the club for growth and more successes.
“The aim of this meeting is to bring everybody on board and attain the aim of the team, considering the COVID-19 pandemic and other irregularities which has affected the football season. We all need to rally behind the club and see that we grow together…”
The club won the 2020 Elite One title, participated in CAF Champions League and in a yet to be announced date shall face rivals Astres Football Club of Douala, in the finals of the Cup of Cameroon. The club will be going in for the third Cup of Cameroon final.
“We have come close to the Cup of Cameroon on several occasions but have never had the opportunity to win it. We have won the league and now we need to do all we want to win the cup which I think is more prestigious.” Abunde Pascal said ahead of the Cup final.
Innovations
Players and staff have all been created bank accounts for regular salaries and match bonuses to be paid in directly. Insurance scheme have also been instituted for players to ease treatment in case of injuries. The club has a team of 35 licenced players with each player in possession of a copy of their contracts and durations to avoid fraud.

At the end of the 2020/2021 football season 14 players in the likes of Hashou Kerido, Mael Dindjeke, Mfegue Omba, Neloh Kevin, Balla Atangana, Owen Mikel, Kenneth, Yamkam Basil, Fuh Klein, Njang Romeo, Kenneth Edet, moved elsewhere and have been replaced by 20 others like Ulrich Zanga, Nchindo Cletus, Brillant Awamukala, Bahoken Cedric, Kouoh Dicka Olivier, Ikong Pierre, Bello Karim, Sombang Eduard, amongst others.
