Yannick Eone Mbom, son of former Cameroon international late Ephrem Marie M’Bom has penned a one-year deal with PWD of Bamenda from the 2022/23 season.
The defender who previously played for Canon Yaounde in the Elite One championship now joins PWD from Center region side AS Futuro of Mfou.
Mbom enjoyed a brilliant season at Futuro, made the cut in most occasions but unfortunately the side didn’t get to the playoff.
Mbom joined the rest of his Abakwa Boys earlier this week and has been working hard under coach Martin Nkabyo hoping to provide competition for unfit Burinyuy Derick and fit-again Nyaba Brian.
Ephrem Marie M’Bom was a top notch defender during his playing days. He won five Cameroon top-flight titles, won the CAF interclub competition on two occasions.
His defensive knowhow earned him a call up to the senior national selection. The three times winner of the cup of Cameroom won 12 caps for his fatherland between 1981-84.
His 23-year old son has the PWD platform to play catch up to his father.
Yannick Mbom is a part of the PWD squad to travel to Bafoussam on Sunday,August 28 for their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round preparatory camp.
