Olympique Lyonnais of Indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward Karl Toko-Ekambi Louis Brilliant have stunned defending champions of France PSG this Sunday evening in match-day 14 of the French Ligue 1 championship.
The men from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes stunned their rivals from Paris at the Parc de Prince on Sunday.
A 35th minute strike from 25-year-old Zimbabwean forward Tino Kadewere off an assist from unplayable Cameroon forward Toko-Ekambi was all it needed to for Lyon to take all three points back to the Groupama Stadium.
Though Rudi Garcia’s team was reduced to ten late in the game following the sending off of Thiago Mendes. The Brazilian defender was shown a red for a dangerous challenge on compatriot Neymar.
It ended on a one-nil score in favor of visiting Lyon who have won eight of their 14 games this season and a second-seeded to Lille on the same 29 points.
Lyon’s Toko-Ekambi only provided an assist in the Paris game but remains the Club’s man of the moment with three goals and four assist in the previous seven games of the season in all competitions.
The defeat is PSG’s fifth against Lyon since the start of the 2011-2012 season which makes Lyon their greatest tormentor in that time. It is also their first win in Paris in 13 years.
