Jacques Zoua returns to full fitness after spending two weeks on the sidelines due to a foot injury. The intermediate lions played their last group game and the quarter-final clash against the leopards of DR Congo without their most experienced forward and 2017 AFCON winner.
Professor Williams Ngachu said on Tuesday evening “Zoua’s return is a morale booster and provides coach Martin N Mpile with a selection headache” before the semi-final clash with the Atlas Lions of Morocco. Jacques Zoua’s absence in the lion’s last three games had raised eyebrows and concerns from football pundits and had gone a step further to suggest a feud between the player and head coach Martin N Mpile.
Zoua’s inclusion in the matchday squad is expected to bring in extra motivation for his teammates and will also hope to have some minutes on the green turf when the intermediate lions play host to Morocco in what promises to be a mouth-watering clash on Wednesday night.
