The Unisport of Bafang versus UMS of Loum Clash this weekend in Melong will be an interesting one especially for thee CEO of UMS of Loum,Pierre Kwemo who doubles ass the Mayor of Bafang the hometown of Unisport.

Clashes between this two sides have always been very close and hotly contested like derby games and to an extend,it is a derby because of the Pierre Kwemo factor.

History

Unisport of Bafang may have been silent in the league scene in the last 20 years, but nobody can take away the title the club won in 1996 making them a previous champion, just like their Sunday’s opponents UMS of Loum. UMS was only created in 2011 but the 8 years old club now represent a force in Cameroon Football. They won the League title in 2016 just two years after they got to the top flight championship and have since then push for more honours.

Last term UMS of Loum ended the season as runners-up while Unisport of Bafang needed a FIFA decision against Bamboutos to drag them back into the first division championship after they ended the season in 16th position.

The fixture will be observed for the first time at the municipal Stadium in Melong.

Head To Head Records

Sunday’s clash is going to be the 11th between these clubs. So far UMS have an edge in the previous meetings;the club have picked up 5 wins in the previous 10 meetings while Unisport can boast of 3 wins with the other two games ending in a draw.

There have been two, goals all for UMS in the last 4 games between this two clubs. The fixture has carefully carved its reputation as a very tight one and very unfavourable one for Unisport that will be looking for their first win against UMS since they last won 2-1 on the 14th of April 2016.

UMS of Loum is still looking for their first away win over Unsiport of Bafang who have adopted Melong as their home this season.

UMS have scored 9 times in their previous meetings with just 2 away goals while Unisport have scored 7 goals.

Recent Form
Unisport were beaten in round 6 making the club winless in 16 League Matches this season and winless in their last 16 matches in this division. In fact the club is still to score in 5 games this season, their 3 clean sheets in that run is what they can build on and start picking up results under New Boss,Agbo Hans. Unisport have just 3 points from possible 15 points this season.
UMS will be more confident on Sunday especially after their recent away win recorded against Astres on  Wednesday in Limbe. The club can boast of 2 wins and 3 draws plus a defeat in their 6 outings this season making it 8 points from 15 games for Coach Djam Laurent’s boys.
Players to Watch
Former Union Sportive and Unisport Captain,Bertin Ngemaleu now of UMS Loum will line up against his former club for the first time since leading them to the cup of Cameroon semi final last season. His defensive partner,Cedric Djomo just like Willy Nnameji who once played for Unisport’s rival Fovu of Baham will all be key to the UMS course. The role of Joel Etogue in the UMS midfield can’t be over emphasized. In the Unisport camp, goalkeeper Armand Raoul is going to be a very busy man.
Coach Laurent Djam of UMS will be returning to Melong where he started last season but was sacked abruptly.
Certainly a great game for the population of Melong.
