Second season for Fovu since their return

The 2016 runners-up, UMS of Loum sat out game week 8, but would be making their return in match day 9 in a tricky trip to face mid-table placed Fovu of Baham, during the mid-week; Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

UMS of Loum is just overwhelming every single time they meet Fovu since 2014, and Fovu have never carried the day when they come up against UMS

2014: Fovu 1-1 UMS

UMS 2-1 Fovu

2015: Fovu 0-0 UMS

UMS 2-0 Fovu

2018: UMS 1-0 Fovu

Fovu 1-2 UMS

UMS is dominating the encounter by milles scoring 8, playing out 2 draws in 6 games, winning the remainder of the 4.Fovu is playing at home but the past 3 encounters in Baffousam meant a win and 2 draws in favour of UMS.

Recent form

UMS has recorded 2 wins, 2 draws, and a single loss that came against YOSA in their previous 5 encounters, that explains their 3rd place in group B while Fovu has been on some kind of roller coaster ride, beating opponents like YOSA and dropping points to A.S Fortuna, that puts them in 5, with 5 points out of 5 previous games.

The stakes of the game is definitely high for the both club’s, given the fact that Fovu is within touching distance with the group leaders while UMS would like to consolidate her strong position of 3 or move forward if they have a chance.

Players to watch

The defenders of these two club’s have blossomed in squads where there is no shortage of attacking prioress ; Patrick Arnaud Ziepop for Fovu, got that all most important header that handed them all 3 points against YOSA, as well as Landry Djomo turned a super man for his team against Astres of Douala, a fortnight ago to hand them all 3 points, so, if proceedings become tight then do not be surprised one of them steps up.

Club’s History

Fovu of Baham was created in 1978, and with a little bit of history on their own have going ahead to win the 2001 and 2010 Cameroon cup respectively, though they are still to lay claim to the coveted Elite 1 title.

UMS was created in 2011, and since then the club has hit superb standards winning the two most important trophies at local club level : Cameroon cup-2015 and the Elite 1 2016.

The stade Omnisport of Baffousam is one of the finest stadiums around the nation, and it has hosted some U17 and U20 games. It is the home of Fovu and they have played there 6 times, beating twice by 1 to nil scorelines, but have gone ahead to win Astre and YOSA in the stadium.
