North African side, Morocco continued their poor run in the IHF Men’s World Championship in Egypt.
After finishing last in group C and dropping to the President Cup, the North African country crumbled before Austria on Wednesday by 36:22.
Austria who had not won a match just like Morocco, got their first win and a big one at that.
Austria led from the beginning of the match and by the end of the first phase, it was Austria 17 while Morocco had 14.
Hummel Player of the match, Sebastian Frimmel was the tonic the Austrians needed to run over the Moroccans. At the end, it was a 36:22 win for the Europeans.
Prior to the game against Austria, the African side conceded 20 losses against European teams, including two at Egypt 2021, against Portugal (20:33) and Iceland (23:31).
Hence, it will take the Africans another tournament to maybe beat an European side.
