Following a meeting by the Technical Transitional Council led by General Pierre Semengue held Thursday 24, 2022, the council has added Garoua site as one of the sites to host Elite games for the 2021/2022 football season.
This comes after a letter from the presidency of Cameroon address to the Technical council dated March 21, 2022 signed by the Secretary of State Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh stated that Garoua site should be included.
“I have the honor to inform you that, Mr President of the REPUBLIC has instructed the city of Garoua be added on the list of MTN Championship match venues for ELITE One 2021-2022.To this end, you will kindly take, in to consideration with the
Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), all useful and necessary provisions for programming, effective meetings of the said Championship, in the city of Garoua.” The letter read
Initially FECAFOOT shortlisted four sites to host Elite One and two games in order to meet up with the deadline and complete this football season. These include Douala (Reunification stadium, Japoma annex stadium), Yaoundé (Ngoa-EKELLE stadium, Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, OLEMBE Stadium), Bafoussam site (MTN Municipal Area Mbouda, FOTSO victor stadium, Bamemdzi stadium) Limbe Site (NGEME arena, Molyko stadium.
In addition to the above mentioned stadia, the Roumde Adjia Stadium shall henceforth be programmed to host games for the season and the Elite One Championship is getting to its third day of play this Saturday March 26.
