Reigning Cameroon champions PWD social Club of Bamenda will face 15 times champions Cotonsport of Garoua in a pre-season friendly this Sunday at the Bafoussam Omnisport Stadium in Kouekom.
Club sources have confirmed the long-awaited fixture will be observed this weekend.
Both sides are shaping tactics for the new season in the domestic and international scene.
PWD of Bamenda and Cotonsport have been in full preparations for the season for over a month and played at least three friendly games each.
It will be only the third meeting between both sides in 16 years but an always exciting one.
PWD narrowly-edged Cotonsport of Garoua to their maiden title in may last year following FECAFOOT’s decision to abandon the remaining six fixtures of the 2019-2020 season after the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic.
PWD are expected to represent Cameroon in the CAF Champions League while Cotonsport represents the country in the CAF Confederation Cup expected to begin in November just like the domestic championship.
The Cotonsport team leaves Yaoundé-Cameroon this morning for Bafoussam while PWD have recently completed a one month training tour away from home.
Cotonsport are scheduled to face Elite One rivals Djiko FC of Bandjoun on Friday before facing PWD two days later.
