The Second encounter for the Intermediate lions of Cameroon in the Pre-CHAN has ended in 2-1 defeat for the lions
Played at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Annex1 stadium Monday January 4, 2021, proved the lions are yet to get to their feet for the CHAN under 12 days.
Inconsistency was once more shown to be the course of the lions seen in incomplete passes, lack of confidence, consistent back play.
Martin Ndtoungou Mpile’s boys created more vacuums for the Menas to exploit. This resulted to the first goal by Moussa Adamou Issa for Niger just five minutes into the game.
This did not ring a bell to the lions to get up from their slumber. The game was rather left to the mercy of goalkeeper Haschou Kerido who exercised his goalkeeping skills.
The Mena of Niger stood firm on their win run which they used pressure, heat and tactics to confuse the lions earning themselves a penalty. The penalty was later converted to a second goal by Ibrahim Issa.
Coach Harouna Doula Gabde of Niger backed to the dressing room after the first 45 minutes with two goals in their pocket and left the lions hungry.
Substitutions done by coach Martin for Cameroon only yield a single goal from Zacques Zoua through a touch in the 18m box
All efforts could only yield made at the end were uncompromised.
