The Chipolopolo of Zambia have had a second training session this Friday January 1, 2021.
The training held at the Amadou Ahidjo Annex2 stadium from 10:30am which lasted till mid-day. The preparation is ahead of the Pre-CHAN from January 1-7, 2021 involving Cameroon, Niger and Uganda.
It is also an opportunity for coach ‘Micho’ to fine-tune tactics ahead of the CHAN tournament slated for January 16 to February 7, 2021. Zambia has been pitted against Guinea, Namibia and Tanzania.
Reacting after this encounter, head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic says the Pre-CHAN is an opportunity to finalise preparations for the CHAN
“This is a chance so we are ready to play and to give the best. For us this is a game that is about 70% part of the big game and with some new addition and many young stars which we belief we will be amongst the young stars in the competition. How ever no matter what we want to show the competitiveness and to show that it is not what we talk about but what we can do in the field od play”
Zambia’s best perfomance has been at tge level of semi finals in 2009, quarter finalist in 2016. Thus this is a chance to go beyond as the coach opined
“This time we share a target to go beyond the quart finals. But we have no right to think anything beyond with respect to our repected opponents Tanzania, Guinea and Namibia. First we need to settle the scores amongs us.
All what we think now is first match, first goal, first win and after that we can plan about the rest.”
Zambia will take on Niger Tuesday Niger for the Pre-CHAN tournament Saturday January 2, 2021
Guinea, Tanzania, and Namibia complete group D and are expected to Lodge in Limbe for the CHAN.
