Newly-signed Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon and Ouriense forward Farida Machia came off the bench for the last 37 minutes as her Portuguese Women’s League outfit FC Oureinse picked up an impressive win at home to Damaiense.
The game looked a tougher contest for the host in the opening 45 minutes as they failed to score or find their spark upfront.
The introduction of Farida Machia just before the start of the second segment made Oureinse more daring in the final third.
It took just nine minutes after the introduction of the 29-year-old Cameroonian for the host to score the opener through Flavia.
The first relegation playoffs fixture for both sides was settled by the 54th minute strike as both sides failed to score a second goal of the game.
Both sides put up a great display but in the end Machia’s Oureinse was the better side as they picked up all three points on offer to mark a perfect start in the playoffs.
Ouriense are second on the log ahead of their trip to A-dos Francos on Sunday January 24th.
Farida is expected to be more involved in the next game.
The big Cameroonian scored five goals and assisted six for Cameroon side Awa Ladies in six games played during the first half of the season while she was still in Cameroon.
