The communication boss of the Cameroon Professional Footballers syndicate(SYNAFOC),Jean Marie Itiga have told kick442.com that the syndicate has been invited for a crisis meeting.
SYNAFOC officials will meet with officials of Cameroon Football Federation(FECAFOOT),the Minister of Sports and Physical Education,Officials of the Syndicate of Elite clubs(SYCEC) and the officials Cameroon Professional Football League (LFPC) in a meeting Convened by FECAFOOT.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday February 25 at a venue still to be made public.
This comes after World’s Football Governing body,FIFA sent a letter to FECAFOOT instructing the latter to sort out over a season old issues of unpaid salaries raised by SYNAFOC.
Two weeks back SYNAFOC published a report which showing that only 9 of the 33 first and second tier clubs don’t owe players going back to the beginning of the 2017/2018 season.
Bamboutos FC,Eding Sport FC,YOSA of Bamenda,Cotonsport of Garoua,Stade Renard Of Melong,UMS Loum,Panthere of Nde,Lion Blesse of Fortuni and Dynamo of Douala are the clubs not owing Salaries or owing bonuses according to the reports.
Last season clubs in Cameroon received their subventions from the federation but kick442.com understands some of this clubs did not channel the money the players despite most of the players respecting their commitments.
In Cameroon top flight clubs are expected to pay their players at least monthly salary of 100 000 FCFA an equivalence of 152 Euros and second tier clubs have the responsibility to pay at least half of the amount paid by top flight clubs.
Monday’s meeting will be aimed at seeking lasting solutions to this situation before the FIFA deadline of March 4.
