President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Melvin Pinnick says he is hopeful that the newly appointed Super Falcons Head Coach, Randy Waldrum will translate Super Falcons of Nigeria’s dominance in Africa at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, www.kick442.com can report.
Pinnick made this assertion with a series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle on Monday while treating major issues concerning Nigerian football.
“For the Super Falcons, I’m happy to announce that Randy Waldrum will be the man tasked with taking our Women to the next level. Waldrum was one of over forty coaches interviewed by our consultants, Phillips Consulting, with that list pruned to four and Waldrum getting the job.
“I’m extremely happy with the professional work Phillips Consulting has done and I’m hopeful that our Coach will turn our dominance on the Continent to dominance worldwide.
Hopefully, with a new man in charge, our Women can start proper preparations for football again.”
Randy Waldrum was on Monday appointed as Thomas Dennerby’s successor and he will be in charge of Africa’s most successful women’s football national team.
Super Falcons have failed to translate their continental success at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in spite of the fact that it has participated at every FIFA Women’s World Cup since it’s inception in 1991.
Quarter Final showing at the USA 1999 World Cup was Falcons’ best performance at the World Cup. It is hoped that the arrival of Randy Waldrum will be able to translate Nigeria’s continental success of winning every Africa’s title save for two at the World Cup.
