Coach Salisu Yusuf was suspended after he was being in a bribery scandal, but was reinstated by the NFF after serving his suspension.
In a radio interview monitored by kick442.com, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick has stated why the coach is still with the NFF.
Pinnick opined that despite the offence committed by the coach was fundamentally wrong it was not enough to throw him out like.
”Salisu is an amazing coach. What he did Yes, was wrong fundamentally but he’s been sanctioned.” Pinnick said.
The NFF Boss also said his offence wasn’t there in his contract hence, no need to cancel his contract.
”Sanctions are meant to repair you, is not just to discard you and throw into the bin.”
When asked if the former CHAN Eagles coach was paid while on suspension the NFF Boss replied ‘No no, he wasn’t.”
It will be remembered that the NFF reinstated Salisu Yusuf as coach a year after he served his suspension for collecting an amount of money reported to be around $1000 to influence his team’s selection for the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations in Ghana.
Coach Salisu Yusuf was appointed the Technical Manager of Rangers after his suspension.
