Real Madrid’s coach Zinedine Zidane has engaged into discussions with Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Real are in search of a new forward in view of the upcoming season. Aubameyang is one of their possible new recruits.
Zidane’s move is a concrete step towards a possible move for the Gabonese to the Bernabeu.
According to reports from the Express, Real’s French Coach has informed Aubameyang of Real’s interest in him.
However, the former Saint-Etienne and Borussia Dortmund forward is not Real’s first option. They will prefer to get either Dortmund’s Erling Haaland or Liverpool’s Sadio Mane ahead of Aubameyang.
Tied up to Arsenal till June 2021, the 30-year-old forward has expressed a desire to continue his career at the Emirates despite the high interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs.
Discussions for a potential extension of his contract with Arsenal have not also been the table, which continues to fuel speculation that the forward could be on his way out this summer to avoid losing him for free at the end of next season.
