English Premier League outfit Chelsea are considering an intracity move for Arsenal’s captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Blues are reported to be plotting a move for the 30-year-old Gabonese from the North to the West of the English capital.
Aubameyang hit the the ground running with Arsenal since joining them in the winter transfer window of 2018 from Borussia Dortmund. The Gabonese has scored 49 league goals in his time at Arsenal.
With just a year left on his current contract, he has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates, especially after talks of a contract extension have not gone according to plan.
Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, PSG and Manchester United have been keeping tabs on the former Saint-Etienne forward.
Reports from the Bleacher Report have added Chelsea on the list of potential suitors for the prolific forward.
Chelsea’s Manager Frank Lampard is a huge fan of the AC Milan youth product and thinks he could improve on the Blues’s cutting edge upfront.
A strong argument for Aubameyang making the switch to Chelsea could be the prospect of playing Champions League football next which is something Arsenal are unlikely to provide this season.
Aubameyang was the Premier League’s joint top scorer last season with 22 goals, along side fellow Africans, Mane and Salah and is still in the contention for the award this season with his 17 league goals this campaign only being second to Jamie Vardy’s 19.
