Few weeks after the resignation of veteran coach, Claude Le Roy, Togo Football Federation (TFF) has appointed Portuguese trainer Paulo Duarte as the new head coach.
Claude Le Roy announced his resignation a couple of weeks ago after he failed to qualify the Sparrowhawk to the African Cup of Nations to hold in Cameroon.
Duarte, 52, will not start work immediately as he is to start work from August 2021.
The former Portuguese player currently coaches Angolan giants Premiero de Agosto who have thirteen matches to play in the league.
Consequently, the former Gabonese coach will not be at the touch line when the West African country will play their opening 2020 World Cup qualifiers against Senegal and Namibia. Rather, coach Jonas Kokou Komla will hold the forth.
Duarte, a two-time Burkina Faso coach will be at the helm of affairs of the team for three years.
