The forward whose career has been blighted by injuries told the media during his presentation that he is at his new Club to relaunch his career.

“I started in Ligue 2, my decision to join this Club can be considered as a backwards step for a subsequent progress,” Ntep told the media.

The Douala-native began his professional career in France 2010, as a second tier player with Auxerre. He progressed gradually until he was capped for the French national team in a professional career that looked so promising. Unfortunately, for the boy, all didn’t go as planned, injuries took a tool on his progress.

A switch to Guingamp after weeks of being without a Club has been greeted with mix feelings especially back in his country, Cameroon.

“The discussions between my representative and the Club went very fast. When I saw the Guingamp project, I quickly joined without hesitation,” Ntep further explained.

Guingamp completed Ntep’s signing on a three-year-deal last month as a free agent.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian forward returns to France after a few years away.

Ntep surely hopes to revive his struggling career under coach Sylvain Didot. He has experienced failures at Saint Etienne and most recently at Kayserispor where he managed just six games while on loan from Wolfsburg.

The Cameroon international has been handed the jersey number 18 at the Club.

He will be a part of the Club’s players for at least for the next three years.

Ntep, who played twice for France under Didier Deschamps before switching allegiance to Cameroon joins international colleague Felix Eboa at the Brittany.

It is the fourth French club for the winger who has two caps with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
