Zambian sensation, Patson Daka on Sunday April 4, 2021, achieved an Austrian Bundesliga record of scoring the league’s fastest hat trick. He slotted in three goals in 8 minutes for Red Bull Salzburg in the outfit’s 3-1 win over side Sturm Graz.
The 22-year-old Chipolopolo forward opened scores three minutes after kick off with a closed ranged powerful shot after swiftly racing pass Sturm Graz defenders.
Daka powered in the second 2 minutes later through a diving header following a beautiful assist from American midfielder, Brenden Aaronson.
He netted his third and last of the day at the 11th minute via a brilliant tap in after a poorly managed corner kick.
Sunday’s hat trick moved the Zambian’s goal tally for club this season to 30 plus 8 assists in 32 matches. He now counts an overall of 34 goals this season after scoring brace for Zambia against Zimbabwe and Algeria during the just ended international break in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon next year.
The forward’s exploits maintains Red Bull Salzburg at the top of pool A of play-offs for the Austrian league with 29 points, four ahead of rivals Rapid Wien who they face next Sunday in a much anticipated encounter.
But more so, it sparked rumors about his possible transfer from the club this season with many transfer talks linking him to the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool in England who are all in the race to signing forwards during the next summer transfer window.
Football pundits predict, the forward who has a market value of 20 million Pounds may be well placed as alternative for Liverpool in the place of former team mate, Erlind Haaland who is reportedly the prime target of the English Premier League champions.
Analysts place the attacker on better position for bigger moves this summer-due to his full availability considering Zambia’s failure to qualify for the 2021 AFCON. A tournament that could make the forward unavailable for at least four weeks.
