Pape Gueye completes a switch to Marseille

Promising French-born Senegalese young midfielder, Pape Alassane Gueye has agreed a deal to join French outfit Olympique Marseille from Le Havre, can report.

Premier League outfit, Watford initially on their website in May had signed a pre-contract the defensive midfielder, but the player has refused to join the Club citing irregularities in his contract.

This means the 21-year-old highly-rated Senegalese makes a big progress in his career by joining Champions League-bound Marseille from the French Ligue 2 one a three-year-deal.

The Montreuil native has reportedly agreed a five-year-deal which gives him the first chance to test himself in the big time.

Born in France to Senegalese parents,Gueye began his career with Blanc-Mesnil SF where he spent five years before switching to Le Havre AC in 2012.

He has been capped for the Under 18 and Under 19 teams of France but remains eligible for the Teranga Lions of Senegal.

His capture is a big one for coach Andre Villas-Boas and his Marseille side.
