French-Senegalese former Olympique Marseille president Mababa “Pape” Diouf has been evacuated to France in a medical Airbus.

France-based Cameroonian journalist Richard Naha is reporting that the 68-year-old has contracted the Covid-19 in one of his recent visits to the Ivory Coast.

The football sports personality who has occupied different role in the industry including being a journalist and a sports agent had been hospitalized in Senegal’s capital city Dakar but his family has resolved to airlift him to France.

He is expected to arrive Paris at 23 hours local time.

Born in Abéché in Chad in December 1951,Diouf is very popular on the African continent especially to French football followers and Olympic Marseille faithfuls.

He was president of the popular French club between 2005-2009.

Retired Cameroonian Goalkeeper Joseph Antoine Bell is one of the many footballers he served as their agent.

His health situation is certainly a worry to millions on the African continent and in France if not the entire Europe.
