Senegalese former international Papa Bouba Diop has passed away after a long illness at the age of 38.
He scored Senegal’s first goal in history during the 2002 FIFA World Cup against the then World Champions France.
The defensive midfielder played for Portsmouth, Westham, Fulham and some clubs in France.
He played 63 times for Senegal from 2001 to 2008 and scored 11 goals.
