Panthère Sportive of Nde has survived the relegation trap in the MTN Elite one championship, following their narrow one_nil win over YAFOOT in the relegation playoff game at the Roumde Adjia stadium on Friday evening.
YAFOOT finished 10th of the 12 teams in pool B, while Panthère ended 11th of the 13 teams in pool A, without both sides needing a playoff game to decide who amongst them joins TKC, Racing, New Stars of Douala and OFTA of Kribi in the Elite two championship.

A battling first half at the Roumde Adjia stadium saw both sides returning to the dressing room tight zero all, with the closest action of the half being Sébastien Thierry Ngoumou’s goal that was ruled out for offside at the 28th minute.
Just two minutes upon resumption for the second half (47), Sébastien Thierry Ngoumou capitalised on a defensive howler from YAFOOT, to notch the ball pass goalkeeper Joseph Bessala of YAFOOT, to put Panthère in front.
Sébastien Thierry Ngoumou was injured few minutes later, and replaced by Desmond Kameni, while Sylvain Cissé and Duhamel Kalamandji were brought in late on.

For YAFOOT, Boris Djoumessi, Leonard ACHA ACHA and Maurice Tabi, were introduced to try and get an equalizer, but goalkeeper Jonathan Koularambai pulled a series of top notch saves, to ensure that the Nzui manto secure the win and stay in the top flight.
YAFOOT FC returns to the elite two championship less than two seasons after they returned to the top flight.
