Cameroon international Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo, has penned a heartfelt message to the Montpellier family, with his departure from the Stade de la Mosson imminent.
The French club had announced earlier this week that Oyongo and four others will leave the club at the end of their contracts in June, in what will be the end of a four year adventure at the club for the former cotonsport defender.
“Like any adventure, there is an end. My stay with you has been one of the most moving of my career,” the 30_year_old full back wrote via his social media handles on Wednesday.
“The love of the leaders, the availability of the employees, The favor of the supporters, the beauty of the city, the good and bad times we spent in solidarity like a family. All of these things will remain etched in my heart,” Oyongo added.
Though the indomitable lions left back, who will be in contention for a place in Rigobert Song’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World cup later this year, did not announce his next move, but has pledge to always be a Montpellier fan.
“I fly towards a new challenge but I remain pailladin, orange and blue. Thank you for everything 🧡💙” Oyongo concluded.
The 2017 AFCON winner, Joined the club in January 2018, from Canadian side CF Montréal, and made over 60 appearances for the club before going out on loan to FC Krasnodar.
He returned Montpellier this season after a lengthy spell our through injury. The former cotonsport man played 13 games in the just ended French ligue 1 campaign, scoring one goal, as Montpellier finished the season on the 13 position, with 43 points.
