Nigerian forward Asisat Oshoala scored twice in two halfs as Barcelona Femeni avoided a scare and ruthlessly punished title rivals, Athletico Madrid 6-1 on Saturday during match day 3 of the Spanish Primera Division at the Mini Estadi stadium in Spain.
The three time Africa women’s championship winner played for 73 minutes and was on target at the 45+1 min and 47 minute for the Spanish outfit against ten women Atletico.
Jennifer Hermoso 9th minute goal canceled an Amanda Sampedro’s early lead with goals from Mariona, Aleixandri and Silvia Meseguer completing Barça’s triumph.
Barcelona’s superb display have enabled them take the lead of their league with 7 points behind Deportivo la Coruna.
Asisat 24, has started in all three games for Barcelona Femeni this season.
She helped Barcelona to the UEFA Champions League final against Lyon last season and scored the only goal to inspire the Spanish team to a comeback despite their defeat.
