Super Falcons and Levante UD Femeni forward, Francesca Ordega says she wants to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League with her new Club, Levante UD.
The former Atletico Madrid player sealed a two-year deal with the Spanish Primera Division Women’s side and is optimistic that her side can play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
“I am not the coach but every player wants to play as I still have to study the team and get used to the girls.
I want to play the Champions League with Levante, every player wants it.” Ordega told Levante UD media during her first interview with the Club.
Francesca Ordega was an unused substitute when Levante defeated Granadilla Tenerife 2-1 to qualify for the semi-final of the Copa de la Reina.
Ordega who opined that she was overwhelmed by how the players welcomed her at Levante says the Copa de la Reina victory was an important one for the team.
She said: “I know most of the players, they have given me a good welcome and made me feel at home.
Our last game was a tough one for us. The important thing was that we got the win and we are happy for that.”
Francesca Ordega will hope to make her debut with Levante UD in their next game against Espanyol on May 9, 2021.
Levante UD occupied the second position on the Spanish Primera Division Women’s league table with 61 points from 28 games and are in pole position to pick one of three UEFA Women’s Champions League tickets.
